CHC Praises City's Leadership with Housing Strategy
On Friday, Calgary Housing Company (CHC) expressed its support for the City’s new Housing Strategy: Home is Here, during presentations to the City Council Community Development Committee.
Representing CHC, Sarah Woodgate praised City leadership and the efforts of the Housing and Affordability Task Force in developing the strategy – acknowledging both the short and long term initiatives contained in the strategy.
CHC also presented a letter of support for the strategy.
“It is vital that we continue working together with all housing partners in Calgary to find affordable housing solutions,” says the letter, focusing on three key areas from the strategy – Maintaining existing affordable housing, addressing immediate needs, and addressing long term needs.
Following presentations, the committee will debate the strategy and vote on whether to recommend it to City Council.
