Development Projects - Marda Loop
Marda Loop Development

Calgary Housing’s development in Marda Loop aims to transform the former site of community infrastructure into affordable housing that fits into the surrounding neighbourhood. The proposed development is up to 19 apartment-style residential homes while repurposing the original 1930’s Enmax substation #4 building.
Located in the storied Marda Loop neighbourhood, Calgary Housing’s Marda Loop development will exceed current energy efficiency standards. Calgary Housing is not seeking to change the land use and will meet the height requirements of the existing zoning.
A small community plaza is planned for the eastern edge of the site. In addition to having adequate parking, the development also sits adjacent to a Calgary bus route connecting to downtown and Westhills.
Design is currently underway, with construction expected to begin as soon as the design is confirmed. As plans evolve, the Marda Loop communities will be actively engaged.
