Information for Rent Supplement Tenants

Information for Rent Supplement Tenants

We understand these are challenging and uncertain times and want to provide you with some information that may assist you if you are facing additional financial struggles at this time.

If you are experiencing a change of circumstance please access additional supports available to Albertans like Alberta Works (https://www.alberta.ca/income-support.aspx) or EI (https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/ei.html).

If you are experiencing a change of income due to COVID-19 please visit https://www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-albertans.aspx to review what resources are available to you based on your current situation.

You can also take a look at Financial Supports and Community Resources information on our website if you are looking for other sources of help.

If you have already applied for the additional resources available to Albertans and are worried about your ability to pay your portion of rent on time please reach out to your landlord to discuss payment options.  As Calgary Housing Company is not your landlord please do not contact your administrator to discuss these changes; it is imperative that you contact your landlord directly to update them on any issues you may be experiencing in regards to your upcoming rental payments as they may be able to offer additional options for you.

We understand that this is a very stressful situation to be facing , if you need assistance in understanding what resources are available to you please contact your Rent Supplement Administrator.  Your Administrator will advise you of who to contact based on your situation or put you in contact with a tenant liaison who can assist you in contacting these resources.

We are proud to work with our landlord partners and are confident in the flexibility and support that will be available during this time.

Thank you from your Rent Supplement Team and stay healthy!
